HR departments is one of the common/support departments of the Ministry and is tasked with the overall responsibility of recruiting and staffing as well as compensation, training and development. The core functions, specific duties and responsibilities of the Human Resources department is as follows:
- Handles all matters regarding the recruitment, manpower planning, appointments, promotions, appraisal and employee development.
- Keeping and updating Personnel data and records
- Developing, revising, and recommending personnel policies and procedures
- Maintaining and revising the MPMT handbook on policies and procedures
- Performing benefits administration and maintaining affirmative action program.
- Implementing and revising a MPMT compensation program
- Conducting new employee orientations and employee relations counseling
- Maintaining HR records and reports for all departments.
- Maintaining MPMT directory and other organizational charts
- Recommending new policies, approaches, and procedures related to the MPMT Staff and Staffing Procedures.
- Managing and accessing the institutional needs for Human Resource Development for better training and also to achieve the MPMT goals nd targets.
- Managing and controlling payment of salaries, overtime and subsistence allowance.
